The Non-Profit Organization marks the month of the elderly, in Oeiras, in Taguspark – City of Knowledge, where tours are held for the elderly and people with reduced mobility. The tours are carried out with the support of several volunteers, including several employees of Novartis Portugal.
Pedaling Without Age belongs to an international movement that fights unwanted loneliness and the social isolation of seniors or people with reduced mobility. Ageless Pedaling is not just about bicycles, mobility or sustainability. It’s about human relationships and generosity to those who don’t have access to the little pleasures of life.
This initiative also has the support of Café Joyeux, the first family of cafes/restaurants that employs and forms young adults with intellectual and development difficulties. They are already, nowadays, the official cafeteria of the AGEAS group, have a café / restaurant open to the public, and will open new locations soon.
For Eduardo Baptista Correia, CEO of Taguspark, “initiatives such as “Pedaling Without Age” contribute to more active aging and community integration, according to Taguspark DNA.”
