The elections of Brazil under the eyes of photojournalist João Porfírio on display in Taguspark.
“Brasis. Brazil in 65 images” presents a set of photographs documenting the last presidential elections in Brazil. Signed by photojournalist João Porfírio, the exhibition depicts the various “Brasis” that coexist in a single country. These photographs will be on display at taguspark’s Central Core from March 2 to April 22.For 35 days, photojournalist João Porfírio and journalist Carlos Diogo Santos traveled to various parts of Brazil, in a report for the newspaper and observador radio, and documented the political and cultural differences that coexist in the country. They passed through six states – Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Distrito Federal (Brasília) and Bahia – and from there they traced the portrait of the “Brasis” that coexist in one country. A reality that is indispensable to know to understand how 208 million people live, from large cities to the interior of the Amazon, from slums to paradisiacal beaches. How do you count this Brazil? What are these “Brasis”? The answers, through the lens of João Porfírio, will be on display in the Central Center of Taguspark and are part of the program of MAU – Museum of Urban Art, which aims to promote critical thinking and contribute to the well-being of those who visit and work in the City in Knowledge.
