The dialogue between the artist and the collection “On Pink Floyd”, conveys his sensations, his inner struggles, his encounters and disagreements with history and, in a very natural method, the work took care of itself, escaped the control of its creator, and projected itself on the canvas, sculpture, paper and image, not in a mechanical way, but in a dialectical way.
ALBUQ created a genuine gestural grammar and by using his body as an instrument of construction to the work, he stands out from his generation as a gestualist, working themes in a naturally undisciplined method. He manages, after several decades, to define the individuality of his ‘trait’ in an original way that, here and there, uses the language and techniques of Salvador Dali and Jackson Pollock, two of his heaviest influences. He has several tours in the United States of America where he exhibited and made donations of his works.
The exhibition “Tribute” is free to enter and is part of the program of MAU – Museum of Urban Art, which aims to promote critical thinking and contribute to the well-being of those who visit and work in the City of Knowledge.
