By Binau, the exhibition presents a set of paintings that resort to black humor and embody the hidden depths of the artist’s mind. “All in my Head” will be accessible at Núcleo Central do Taguspark, from September 7th to October 21st, and admission is free.Under an innocent and somewhat childish trait, where the strident colors stand out, “All in my Head” presents a family of misshapen characters that completes and balances each other in their asymmetries, chromaticism and macabre aspect, making satire of the superfluous, routine, sense of belonging and traditionalism. This creative act seeks to bring the audience’s emotions to the surface, challenge the viewer’s perception and encourage them to reflect on the creation of beauty standards and the concept of identity. Born in the 90s, Binau began his career at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, but quickly moved into the world of illustration and visual arts. Its universe is developed under the influence of punk and Dadaism styles, and can be categorized as trash-pop. His work places special emphasis on the creation of misshapen and mutant characters who cohabit in dystopian settings.Binau’s presence at Taguspark is part of the context of MAU – Museum of Urban Art, which aims to promote critical thinking and contribute to the well-being of those who visit and work in the City of Knowledge.
