The Taguspark Incubator – City of Knowledge, located in the heart of the largest innovation ecosystem in Oeiras Valley, has just launched a new Call for startups that want to transform innovative projects into business realities. Applications are open until November 15 here
Created in 2012, the Incubator has already supported about two hundred startups in the different phases, from pre-incubation, through product development to business growth, increased sales and internationalization. In the last Call, held in 2021, 37 projects from the most varied areas were submitted, from Information Technology, Physics, Electronics and Renewable Energies. The virtual incubation modality was also presented.
With the capacity to host 29 companies in physical incubation, the Taguspark Incubator stands out for its laboratories, which include generic technical equipment.
For Eduardo Baptista Correia, CEO of Taguspark – City of Knowledge, “expectations are high, both for physical and virtual incubation. With this Call, we want to promote innovative projects in the areas of Blue Economy, Marine Science, Biotechnology, Space and Defence, without, however, forgetting areas such as Software, Electronics, Robotics and Automation, Life Sciences, Renewable Energies, Sustainability and Circular Economy”.
“The advantages for startups are numerous. By joining the Taguspark Incubator, you are connected to a unique ecosystem in the Iberian Peninsula, which connects companies, research centres and universities, and access to a network of contacts with unique opportunities and export and internationalisation capacity”, adds Eduardo Baptista Correia.
Of the startups supported to date, 90% choose, after finishing their incubation process, to settle in the City of Knowledge as successful technology-based companies.
Currently, the Taguspark Incubator, the first national incubator that was at the genesis of one of the Portuguese unicorns, Talkdesk, occupies an area of 2,000 m² and offers offices of 18, 25 and 50 m² equipped with all the necessary furniture for the initial activity of the companies, as well as laboratories with various generic technical equipment, which allows to reduce the initial investment of startups and accelerate the progress of projects from day one.
Applications from startups can be made until November 15, https://taguspark.pt/pt-pt/solucoes/incubadora/candidata-te/ after which there will be a phase of jury analysis and selection of the projects to be part of the incubator.
With a privileged location in Oeiras, Taguspark is a meeting point for ideas and projects that make a difference at a national and international level. With 150 companies, 24 startups and 16,000 professionals who work and visit the space daily, the Taguspark Incubator supports disruptive and ambitious minds who want to transform their innovative projects into business realities.
